High vibe hot chocolate is delicious, nourishing and stress relieving thanks to the adaptogens it's mixed with.

An adaptogenic herb is a natural substance that helps the body adapt to stress. An everyday example of an adaptogen is ginseng, which provides a nice energy boost and promotes relaxation. It "adapts" to exactly what your body needs. While adaptogens are nothing new, they are finally getting the spotlight they deserve. Take it from us: adaptogens will be a huge power player in 2017.

Now let's talk about mixing these herbs into your everyday life. Our current favorite? High vibe hot chocolate.

High vibing is going beyond exercise endorphins, eating healthy, and meditating. High vibing is adding buzzy extras that help your mind and body thrive. Our hot chocolate is mixed with two adaptogens, Ashwagandha and He Shou Wu to give you just what your body needs.

Ashwagandha is a root herb, traditionally grown in India. It's a staple of ayurvedic medicine and nutrition, boosting immunity, reducing anxiety, stabilizing blood sugar and improving mood. It blends nicely into savory sauces, hot drinks and teas.

He Shou Wu has been used in Chinese medicine for hundreds of years for healthy aging. It has all kinds of benefits, such as improving kidney health, nourishing the blood and fortifying the muscles.

These two adaptogens blend beautifully (and deliciously) in our high vibe hot chocolate.

Ingredients

  • 8oz non-dairy milk (think unsweetened almond or coconut—Our fav is homemade cashew milk)
  • 1 tablespoon raw cacao
  • 1 teaspoon coconut oil
  • 1 tsp tablespoon raw honey, coconut palm sugar or maple sugar
  • Tiny pinch of sea salt
  • Generous shake of cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon Ashwagandha
  • 1/4 teaspoon He Shou Wu
  • Optional 1-2 tablespoons of collagen

Instructions

Heat the milk, coconut oil and sweetener over medium heat in a saucepan on the stove. Whisk in all other ingredients and beat until smooth. Heat to a simmer, give a good whisk, and pour into your favorite mug.

The combination of the herbs, healthy fat and cinnamon will give you a high vibe cup of comfort. Enjoy!
